About — Deb's Jigsaw Gallery

The Story

Art You Can
Build

Deb's Jigsaw Gallery is where the meditative art of puzzle-making meets fine art photography — and where every completed piece has a story worth telling.

Meet Deb

The Curator Behind
the Gallery

Puzzling is like painting. It asks you to bring together intricate colors and designs — piece by piece — the way an artist builds a composition on canvas. Not everyone can see it that way. Those who can't perceive the subtle details rarely take to puzzles. Deb believes completing a jigsaw puzzle is a genuine talent — one that demands a sharp eye, patience, and a deep appreciation for the beauty hiding in the details.

Deb has always believed that puzzles are more than a pastime. They are a practice — a slow, deliberate act of attention that rewards patience and rewards the eye. For years she completed puzzles for the joy of it, then began framing them, and realized she had something worth sharing.

Deb's Jigsaw Gallery grew from that realization. Each piece in the collection is personally selected, built by Deb herself, and framed with care. She writes the story that accompanies every artwork — not just about the image, but about the experience of completing it: the challenges, the discoveries, the memories made along the way.

The gallery's first featured work, Big Boy, is a testament to that philosophy. A 1,000-piece peacock photograph by Debra & Dave Vanderlaan, it took ten years, a beloved brother, and a great deal of heart to complete. It now hangs framed — a tribute to James, and to the quiet power of finishing what you start.

Deb is always looking for the next piece — images that reward close attention, that carry a story, and that transform beautifully under glass and frame. If you are an artist whose work you think belongs in the gallery, she would love to hear from you.

Our Philosophy

What We Believe

Story First

Every puzzle in the gallery comes with the story behind it — the artist, the image, and the personal journey of completing it. Art without context is just decoration.

The Joy of Building

There is something deeply satisfying about placing the last piece. Deb believes that the act of completing a puzzle is itself a form of art — meditative, patient, and rewarding.

Worthy of a Frame

Puzzle art deserves to be taken seriously. Each finished piece is professionally mounted and framed — ready to hang as a genuine work of art in your home.

Accessible Art

Not everyone can afford a framed original. The puzzle copy option means anyone can own a piece of the gallery — and experience the joy of building it themselves.

The Process

How It Works

01

Deb Selects the Art

Every piece begins with an image that earns its place — chosen for its beauty, complexity, and the story it carries.

02

She Builds It Herself

Deb completes every puzzle personally — sometimes over weeks or months — and writes the story of the experience.

03

You Own a Piece

Choose the framed original — professionally mounted and ready to hang — or order a puzzle copy to build yourself.
