My love for deli meats is rooted in childhood memories, born from my father's passion for them. Next door to where my father worked was an old-world delicatessen that offered many imported and domestic meats and cheeses. Father had a deep fondness for the rich, and varied flavors of deli meat and cheeses. Every payday, I recall him bringing home Ring Bologna, Salami, Bratwurst, Ham, Provolone, Muenster, Cheddar, Swiss, and Hog-Head cheeses. I grew accustomed to the authentic flavors of these meats and cheeses carefully made from old recipes passed down through generations.
For a deli lover, completing this puzzle simply reminded me of the comfort of childhood memories, the joy of discovering new flavors, and the artistry behind foods made slowly and with intention.
